News

'Tis indeed a gloomy day, and not just because of the weather Morgan mentioned below.  The Mizpah Hotel burned last night.  Besides the obvious tragedy of the loss of life (six, maybe more) and injury (over 30), 60-80 people who were mostly barely making ends meet as it was, are now homeless and have lost (mostly) everything.

And let's not forget our friends Pho 777, Blind Onion, Hippies, and the other small businesses that, while they didn't lose everything, at a minimum while probably need to relocate, could potentially lose enough business to close their doors, and are probably facing the single worst day a business owner can face today.
Finally, the other loss is for the city of Reno.  We've lost yet another chunk of our history, a fine old 85-year-old building will probably need to be demolished when all is said and done.  Tragic no matter how you look at it.

Not to change the subject too radically to something less serious, but I just wanted to note, I've recently rediscovered NOFX and am remembering how much I enjoy those guys.  Picked up an EP at Tower, can't stop listening to it, and now I think I need to buy the full CD.
