Downs and ups

Wanted to post this yesterday when, it seemed, the world was so full of bad things I felt compelled to document it.  Things aren't as bad right now ~ I'm on the back deck with a cold hefeweizen, thinking about what I need to do for a brief camping outing this weekend.  Since we're working folks, and need to be back on Monday, a quick jaunt over the hill to a campground near Auburn should whet our appetite for outdoor life for the season.

But yesterday, it seemed the future was pretty dark.  Just enough thoughts coming in that made me really pessimistic about our future as a species.  Consider:

  1. china/tibet situation very very serious problems FRANCE DO HIS PART try to stop the torch the R S F ( reporters without borders) put big flag black with hand cut . concerning recession thank you bush ( good buddy of our new president nicolas sarkozy ) FRANCE the left party want the president of france boycott the ceremonies opening ceremonies but the rigth party dont want because FRANCE so much money involde in China ( 20 billons $) already china boycott the store like CAREFOUR . but who care ? i believe with mondialsation THE CAPITALIST system ist over we have to stop the war exploitation the human race otherwise the end of the world

    Nice editorial, I really liked the hip wader angle: have to remember that one myself. As far as the state of the planet, well, your kids sure look great in the pics you posted! Hard to believe Lola is off to school already.
